Prioritise yourself: You are always going to miss something

Have you heard of FOMO?

FOMO stands for fear of missing out. In today’s fast paced life, we all fear missing something e.g. special events, enjoyable experiences, or important information. We don’t want to miss anything like we don’t want to miss any money making opportunities and don’t want to miss a trip with friends. We also don’t want to miss our partner’s birthday, parents-teachers meeting of our kids and at the same time don’t want to miss watching our favourite movie/ webseries.

To do all these tasks by a single person is very tedious and takes a toll on your mental and physical health.

So, what to do? First thing to do is, remember that you are not a Superman or Wonder Woman having infinite superpowers. Let’s be clear, you can’t do each and every thing on this planet. So, you need to prioritise things and need to make a balance between all of them to get a peaceful life. Give priority to your health, family, friends and finances to live a balanced life.

Remember, balance is the key. You can give one hour every day to take care of health and work with eagle-like focus during office/ business hours to get maximum output. Once you reach home, forget about your job profile and office problems and spend time with your partner, parents or kids. Take time from your busy schedule once a week or a month to chill with your friends.

You are always going to miss something but by prioritising you will enjoy the small pleasures of life.
