Ideal health: Do you know all components.

Everyone wants an optimal health to live a happy and fruitful life. To reach the goal of achieving good health, you should be aware of various components of health. By knowing each and every component of health, you can find out on which component you need to work to fulfill your dream of optimal health.

Let’s come to components one by one

  1. Mental health: A calm and composed mind is the first and foremost thing needed for good health. Meditation, reading books, proper nutrition and adequate hydration are important for good mental health.
  2. Cardiovascular health: This component refers to a strong heart and lungs. You have heard news of many bodybuilders/ fitness influencers with good physiques who died of heart attacks and hearing these news scare you from going to gym. The reason probably is the main focus on building muscles with negligible focus on cardiovascular health.  So, take care of your heart and lungs by doing aerobic exercises including running, rope skipping, cycling and swimming. Also, take a diet having less saturated fat and more unsaturated fat.
  3. Muscular health: Muscles are key to longevity. Strong muscles will help you to do your daily activities without tiredness. After the age of 40, you will lose 1% of your muscle mass every year. Strong and preserved muscles at old age will help you to live a life with less dependence on others for day to day activities. Muscular health can be achieved by strength training and adequate protein intake.
  4. Skeleton/ Joint health: Your bones should be strong and joints should be well flexible. There is no point in having a strong heart and good muscle mass, if you can’t move due to poor joint mobility. A strong skeleton prevents age related fractures and good joint mobility keeps you moving with ease. Good skeleton health can be achieved by stretching, yoga asanas and adequate calcium/ Vitamin D intake.
  5. Social health: A good circle of family and friends are needed to give you mental peace and motivate you to attain good physical health.
