Vastu Tips for Entrance Home or Building

Kanika Decor sharing some essential Vastu tips for the entrance of a home or building, as per traditional Indian architectural principles:

🧭 1. Ideal Direction for Entrance

  • North-East (Ishanya): Most auspicious, brings prosperity and peace.
  • North (Uttara) and East (Purva): Also favorable, promotes growth and opportunities.
  • Avoid: South-West (Nairutya), South (Dakshina), and North-West (Vayavya) for main entrance unless remedies are applied.

🚪 2. Entrance Door Design Tips

  • Door should open clockwise (left to right).
  • Single, solid door is preferred (not sliding or folding).
  • Avoid doors with damaged or broken parts.
  • Wood is the most Vastu-compliant material (teak is ideal).

🌞 3. Lighting and Illumination

  • Entrance should be well-lit, especially in the evening.
  • Install a bright light or lamp at the main door (consider a yellow or warm white bulb).

🕉️ 4. Sacred Symbols

  • Place auspicious symbols like:
    • Swastik
    • Om (ॐ)
    • Trishul
    • Lotus or Kalash
  • These attract positive energy and ward off negativity.

🧼 5. Cleanliness and Clutter

  • Entrance should be clean and clutter-free at all times.
  • Avoid keeping dustbins, broken furniture, or shoes directly in front of the main door.

🌳 6. Plants at Entrance

  • You can place green plants or Tulsi plant near the door.
  • Avoid thorny plants like cactus near the entrance.

🧱 7. Threshold and Step

  • A threshold (door sill) prevents wealth from draining out.
  • Avoid a door directly opening to a staircase or wall.

🪟 8. Entrance Vs. Other Doors

  • The main entrance should be the largest and most prominent door in the house.
  • It should not face another person’s main door directly.

❌ Avoid:

  • Bathroom/toilet or kitchen doors near the main entrance.
  • Mirrors facing the main door (they reflect energy away).
  • Dark or dull-colored entrance doors (prefer wood tones, white, light yellow, green, or blue based on direction).
